Dambulla Sixers

Galle Gallants produced a dominant all-round performance to defeat Dambulla Sixers by 44 runs in the 14th match of the Lanka Premier League 2026 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, Galle Gallants piled up an imposing 220 for 6 from their 20 overs, with contributions coming throughout the batting order. Chamika Karunaratne stole the show with a sensational unbeaten 72 off just 34 deliveries, smashing four boundaries and six sixes to propel the Gallants beyond the 220-run mark.
The innings was built on an aggressive start from Sam Harper, who struck 41 off 27 balls, while Nurul Hasan added a rapid 29 from only 13 deliveries. Charith Asalanka chipped in with 31, and Sahan Arachchige continued the momentum with an entertaining 28 from 18 balls as Galle maintained a relentless scoring rate throughout the innings.
For Dambulla Sixers, Dushmantha Chameera was the standout bowler despite the heavy scoring, claiming 5 for 55. Mohammad Wasim picked up the other wicket, but the Gallants’ powerful batting lineup proved difficult to contain.
Chasing a daunting target of 221, Dambulla Sixers lost wickets at regular intervals and were unable to keep pace with the required run rate. Niroshan Dickwella gave the chase an early spark with 32 off 19 balls, while Marques Ackerman made 23. Lower-order resistance came from Ramesh Mendis, who remained unbeaten on 39 from 22 deliveries, and Maheesh Theekshana, who finished unbeaten on 16, but the target was always slipping away.
The Sixers ended on 176 for 7, falling 44 runs short.
Galle Gallants’ bowlers delivered a disciplined effort to back up the batting display. Sachindu Colombage starred with the ball, producing excellent figures of 3 for 17 from his four overs. Akif Javed, Eshan Malinga, and Mohammad Nawaz claimed a wicket each, while the bowlers consistently applied pressure through the middle overs to prevent Dambulla from mounting a serious challenge.
A powerful batting performance led by Chamika Karunaratne, followed by a clinical bowling display spearheaded by Sachindu Colombage, helped Galle Gallants secure a convincing 44-run victory over Dambulla Sixers at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, strengthening their momentum in the LPL 2026 campaign.
