Kandy Royals produced a commanding all-round performance to register a convincing 43-run victory over Dambulla Sixers in the sixth match of the Lanka Premier League 2026 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, Kandy Royals posted an imposing 194 for 6 in their 20 overs, with several batters making valuable contributions. Lahiru Udara anchored the innings with a stylish 51 off 34 deliveries, striking five fours and two sixes to provide the Royals with a solid platform.
The middle order maintained the momentum as Wanindu Hasaranga blasted 29 from just 15 balls, while captain Angelo Mathews remained unbeaten on 29 off 19 deliveries to guide the innings through the closing overs. Moeen Ali also chipped in with an entertaining 24 from 13 balls, and Vijay Shankar finished unbeaten on 13 off seven deliveries, helping Kandy finish strongly.
For Dambulla Sixers, Fazalhaq Farooqi was the most successful bowler with 2 for 20, while Mohammad Wasim, Dushmantha Chameera, Maheesh Theekshana, and Vishwa Lahiru claimed a wicket each.
